ICOMEH 25 is Starting...
Dear Mental Health Professionals,
With its thousands of years of history, Diyarbakır, located at the crossroads of civilizations, inspiring with its cultural richness and social diversity, is not only a historical heritage but also an important center of scientific thought and cultural production today. We are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd International Congress on Community and Mental Health, which will be held in this meaningful city, hosted by Dicle University. The main theme of this year's congress, “Mental Health in the 21st Century: Global Crises, Resilience, and Intervention,” will address not only individual psychological processes, but also the social service's approach focused on social justice and equality, the protective and preventive aspects of psychological counseling, the scientific and applied infrastructure of psychology, psychiatry's contributions related to diagnosis, treatment, and social well-being, and the comprehensive role of psychiatric nursing in individual and community-based mental health services. Our congress focuses on understanding the effects of global crises on mental health and developing multi-layered intervention strategies based on this interdisciplinary approach.
The century we live in is shaped by multi-layered crises such as wars, migrations, pandemics, climate crises, economic fluctuations, and social inequalities. These crises not only damage the mental integrity of individuals but also leave lasting effects on social structures. In this context, mental health professionals have a more critical responsibility than ever to take protective, preventive, and remedial measures at both the individual and societal levels. Our congress aims to rebuild this responsibility based on knowledge, experience, and cooperation with the contributions of experts from different disciplines.
The II. International Congress on Society and Mental Health aims to bring together experts, academics, practitioners, public representatives, and non-governmental organizations working in social services, psychological counseling, psychology, psychiatry, psychiatric nursing, and all other mental health fields. Based on the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation in the protection, support, and reconstruction of mental health, our congress aims to provide a strong platform for scientific knowledge production, experience sharing, and professional solidarity by addressing the mental health issues of our time from an interdisciplinary perspective. Increasing the resilience of individuals and societies in the face of “global crises,” developing effective intervention models, and producing sustainable mental health policies are among the main objectives of our congress.
The scientific program, enriched with conferences, panels, and workshops, will cover a wide range of topics, from the multidimensional effects of trauma to community-based mental health practices, from intervention methods in times of disaster and crisis to the re-evaluation of mental health services in a cultural context. Presentations by nationally and internationally renowned speakers will create a learning environment where participants can deepen their knowledge and skills. The deadline for abstract submissions is September 27, 2025. Accepted abstracts will be announced on September 28, 2025, and the deadline for submitting full papers is October 7, 2025.
Abstract presentations can be delivered in Turkish or English, either online or in person. Abstracts and full papers must be prepared in digital format according to the templates available on the conference website.
We are honored and delighted to welcome you to this conference, which we have prepared with an inclusive approach encompassing all mental health disciplines. We invite you to the 2nd International Conference on Community and Mental Health to share your knowledge and experience, establish new collaborations, and strengthen our collective efforts.
